«Dentists from Sweden

A delegation of 35 prominent dentists from Sweden, who attended an International Dental Workshop, in Goa, chose to visit our clinic on 12th April 2005.

We felt ‘honored’ and humbled when these distinguished Dentists told the local Media: “Dr Hubert's clinic can be compared to the best of Dental clinics in Sweden. We are impressed with the latest technology he has at his Clinic and Lab”.

We were delighted at their compliments because, Sweden is the world’s most advanced country for dentistry. It gave to us the World’s first successful Dental Implant, and also its strongest ‘metal-free’ ceramic fixed dentures- the ‘Procera’.

WE WERE NOT SURPRISED…
After being consistently focused on our mission- "To have world class dentistry and make it affordable to every patient", their compliments surely did not come as a surprise. It only justifies, why we command so much credibility in our profession!

Adrian Torres in conversation with DR. SAVNTE INDQUVIST head of the Swedish group of 35 dentists that visited Margao's Dr. Hubert Gomes Dental clinic recently.

* What are the facilities available for improving facial appearance and smile?
Modern dentistry offers many facilities for improving the facial appearance and smile, like implants, crowns, teeth whitening (bleaching), gum treatment (periodontal treatment), orthodontic, treatment (correction of teeth by braces). Oral surgery, digital x-rays, and many other specialized facilities which enable to improve and correct natural inadequacies.

* How do you appraise the facilities at this clinic as compared with those available in Sweden?
It is overwhelming to see such a well-equipped clinic at Goa. This is the first and only clinic in Goa to have the German Carl Zeiss, Dental Microscope that gives 25% magnification. The in-house Ceramic Dental Lab is very advanced. The use of the latest German Diode Laser Technology for “bloodless and painless” dentistry surely places him far ahead of others in the field. We are impressed!

* Cosmetic dentistry has a lifestyle quotient despite its prohibitive cost in the West, India is fast catching up. 
In Sweden the cost of such treatment is almost seven times higher than in India. But the incomes are also higher. So people go for it, as they have a high ‘lifestyle quotient’. Also the person’s standard of living affects his awareness in these matters.

*How do you find the quality of dental work in India especially in Goa?
This is our first visit, but we are amazed by the sheer intensity and energy of the work force here. In Sweden an average dentist sees round 15-20 patients a day, here the number goes up to 35-40.

* Goa is establishing itself into ‘health tourism’. How do you see its importance?
It is very interesting to see the age-old treatments of India, which are generally very effective. This gives an insight into the rich heritage of the people and culture.

* What is your perception about Goa and Goans?
Goans are naturally friendly and caring people. Goa is very beautiful, clean and green. All the Goans should persevere to keep it that way.
